NEWS RELEASE FOR CITIZEN OF JUNE 17, 2010

CHS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PRESENTS SCHOOL WITH WELCOME WALL

On June 8th, the Canton High School Alumni Association presented a large Welcome Wall as a gift to Canton High School and to its current and future students. The wall consists of an 8 foot diameter metal rendition of the CHS insignia, in the traditional CHS colors of green and white, with large green lettering spelling out WELCOME encircling the top. It is a very impressive visual image as you enter the main entrance lobby of the school, and is immediately seen as soon as you open the entrance doors. We encourage all visitors to CHS to stop for a moment as they enter the building and take in this beautiful image. We also encourage all visitors to take a look at the Alumni Association’s display case on the right side of the foyer, which is currently showcasing the 2010 CHS State Champion boy’s hockey team.

Shown above are the members of the 2008-2010 Alumni Association Executive Board, all of whom worked very hard to secure funds for this beautiful addition to the main entrance foyer of CHS: Arthur Radden, Diana Franco, Tula Sfougaris, George Franco, Judy Kincade, Barbara Cash, Susan O’Neill, Stephen Hagan, Diane Glenn, Thelma Rando, Barbara Morin, Ann Galvin, Mary Roache-Harding. Also shown are CHS staff, Gene Zupkofska and Mark Eardley, without whose help this wall ormentation would not have been assembled.
